What your future may hold

As Senior Legal Counsel at Melexis, you will act as a true business partner within a global, technology-driven organization:

• You negotiate, draft, and review a wide range of international commercial agreements (a.o. contracts with universities, customers and suppliers, IP contracts, service, procurement, collaboration and development agreements).
• You advise business stakeholders (sales, procurement, R&D, innovation teams) on legal risks and translate complex legal matters into clear, pragmatic guidance.
• You balance legal risk with commercial objectives, enabling the business to move forward confidently.
• You collaborate with internal teams and external counsel where needed, ensuring efficient and solution-oriented legal support.
• You contribute to building and strengthening the legal function as a business partner in a growing and evolving international context.
• You engage directly with senior stakeholders, including executive leadership, in a flat organizational structure.

Your skillset

• Belgian Master’s degree in Law;
• At least 8 years of experience in commercial law, ideally as an in-house counsel in an international environment;
• Strong expertise in international commercial contracts, with affinity for IP-related aspects;
• Excellent communication skills in English, both written and spoken;
• Strong interest in innovation, technology and the automotive or robotics sector;
• You are a team player with a strong focus on transparency and knowledge sharing;
• You are analytical and solution-driven with a pragmatic approach;
• You can confidently advise on complex legal matters and communicate clearly and effectively to the business;
• You have the ability to build strong relationships and act as a trusted advisor to the business.
• You are hands-on and able to strike the right balance between the legal theory and the business reality;
• You are eager to broaden your legal knowledge to new areas of expertise and jurisdictions;
